Platform
The heart of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL) is the fight for working people—ensuring that every individual in Minnesota has the freedom, opportunity, dignity, and respect they deserve.
But we cannot build a stronger DFL without ensuring that every voice is heard, valued, and included. While Minnesota remained a beacon for Democrats in 2024, we cannot ignore the reality: nationwide, working people—especially those who have historically been underrepresented—have turned away from the Democratic Party. If we are to grow, win, and truly serve all Minnesotans, we must center our efforts on inclusion, accessibility, and deep engagement with communities who feel left behind.
As your Outreach and Inclusion Officer, I will work to ensure that every part of our Senate District feels like a true home within the DFL, where all people—regardless of background, language, or identity—have a seat at the table and a voice in shaping our party’s future.
Strengthening Relationships with Underrepresented Communities
-
Community Presence & Listening: We cannot wait for people to come to us—we must meet them where they are. I will attend community meetings, cultural events, and local gatherings to build authentic relationships with new voters and activists.
-
Engaging BIPOC, Immigrant, and Rural Communities: These communities are vital to our coaltion, yet often feel disconnected from party structures. I will work to bridge that gap, ensuring that their issues are at the forefront of our organizing.
-
Empowering New Leaders: I will develop outreach strategies to recruit and uplift new voices, ensuring that more people from diverse backgrounds step into leadership roles within the DFL. As we build a stronger, more representative party, we must also promote a foundation of mutual respect and equip our members with the tools to navigate differences and mitigate conflict in a healthy and constructive way.
Making the DFL Accessible for All
-
Language Access: I am committed to proactively working with DFL staff and community to ensure that key documents and communications continue to be available, and potentially expanded, in all relevant languages so that language barriers do not prevent participation.
-
Event & Meeting Accessibility: I will fight to ensure that all DFL meetings and events are held in physically accessible locations with necessary accommodations, including interpreters when needed.
-
Cultural Competency in Party Organizing: We must ensure that our meetings and events do not conflict with major cultural or religious observances and that food options respect dietary restrictions.
Partnering with Community Caucuses and Organizations
-
Stronger Coordination with DFL Caucuses: I will collaborate with all DFL community caucuses—including African American, Asian Pacific American, Disability, Environmental, Feminist, Latino (Movimiento), Muslim, Native People’s, Progressive, Rural, Senior, Somali American, Stonewall, Veterans, and MYDFL—to align efforts and ensure meaningful representation across the party.
Coalition-Building with Unions & Grassroots Groups: Many working-class communities already organize around labor unions, tenant rights groups, and faith-based organizations. We must work with these groups—not apart from them—to build real trust and engagement.
-
Representation in Party Structures: I will push for meaningful inclusion in decision-making, ensuring that underrepresented communities have real power within the DFL—not just a presence.

Continuous, Year-Round Engagement
-
Ongoing Organizing—Not Just During Elections: Voter engagement must happen year-round, not just in election cycles. I will work to keep local party units active through continuous outreach and issue-based organizing.
-
Relational Organizing & Training: We must train local leaders to become trusted messengers in their own communities. By investing in grassroots organizers, we build long-term, sustainable engagement.
-
Supporting Local Outreach Officers: I will ensure our party’s outreach officers have the tools, training, and support they need to be effective.
Why This Matters
The work of outreach and inclusion is not just about checking a box—it’s about fundamentally changing how we organize, who we engage, and why people feel connected to our party. If we want to build a stronger, more representative DFL, we must be intentional about welcoming, listening to, and empowering all communities.
I am running for Outreach and Inclusion Officer because I believe in a Minnesota where everyone has a voice. Together, we can build a party that truly reflects the people we serve—a party that listens, fights, and delivers for all Minnesotans.
Let’s make the DFL a home for everyone.
